Spine Care

Dr. Gerald Mastaw, a spine pain specialist at East Coast DISCSEEL, provides the noninvasive DISCSEEL® technique to reduce back pain, neck discomfort, and various musculoskeletal issues for individuals from our Delray Beach, and Tampa FL, locations.

What Does a Spine Pain Specialist Treat? Spine specialists are trained to diagnose all sorts of spine-related conditions, such as –

  • Disc issues, including annular tears – a common problem inherent in the aging process.
  • Herniated discs.
  • Sciatica.
  • Degenerative Disc Disease, to name just a few.

Our Spine Pain Specialist’s DISCSEEL Procedure

At East Coast DISCSEEL, our spine pain specialists offer a unique but proven and effective intervention to help with pain and related symptoms generated by musculoskeletal and other issues. After years of fine-tuning, our DISCSEEL procedure is done in essentially one visit—with four steps or components.

  1. The DISCSEEL technique is considered an outpatient procedure that starts with your consultation with our spine specialist, including a thorough history and examination.
  2. A painless test (medically speaking, it is known as an annulogram) to determine where and if there are tears to the discs causing leakage and needing addressing.
  3. The DISCSEEL technique uses an FDA-approved biologic to seal (and help to heal) the disc tear and promote healthy tissue growth, which happens in the months following the DISCSEEL procedure. The DISCSEEL procedure is performed using a mild sedative and typically takes approximately forty minutes.
  4. After resting and recovering for half an hour, most people experience temporary symptoms, which dissipate with time as they heal and improve their movement.

Note, it is important to walk with assistance at first and slowly return to your normal routine and activities as your body allows. Because discs tend to heal slowly, optimal relief is typically achieved in three to six months.

Who is a Potential DISCSEEL Candidate?
